This week, we decided to get Katie a slide for the backyard. She still prefers the big slides, especially the circular slides, but this works for when we can't get to the park. One of these days, we plan to build a swing set in the backyard for her as well, since that is even better than slides apparently.

Sailing
Last year, Aaron's dad joined a sailing co-op in White Rock. As part of it, he obviously gets an allotment of hours that he can sail with each year. This morning, Aaron and a friend from his dad's band went out sailing from White Rock. Aaron said that it was a great day for it. The weather was great, and there was a good amount of wind. Here are a few photos from the day.
A Welcome Home Surprise
As some of you may know, Aaron was busy while I was away. I came home to find that he painted the kitchen for me while I was gone. Apparently the original plan had been to paint the bedroom, until I announced the morning I left that I wasn't happy with the colour we had chosen, so I was going to look more. I had no idea, that I messed up his plans. I am glad though that I didn't change my mind on the kitchen colour!
A Week in Lacombe
Last week was the first time that Katie and I have been back to visit my family since Christmas. Needless to say, there were lots of people to see and get caught up with. It was a very busy week but we had a great time. While we were there, we retrieved an old play kitchen cabinet from the treehouse for Katie to play with. I used to play with as did my Mom when she was little. Katie, really is a girl. Not only does she like to dress up, smell flowers and play with dolls, she also loves playing house. Travis even got to take part in the fun, and he and Katie had a tea party!
We were also able to see my two of my cousins daughters. They are 8 and 10 months younger than Katie. One of the days, the girls went out for lunch. It was a lot of fun, at least until the grandmas decided they wanted a picture with the grand daughters. As you can see, it was slightly chaotic, but I think the picture is that much more interesting.
On Saturday before we left, my cousin Haley took Katie for a ride on her horse Sugar. I didn't think that Katie would go, but she went up onto Sugar as if it was an everyday thing. As they were riding, Katie kept saying "wee, wee, wee!" Haley actually has two horses, Sugar is the more docile ride, but Lucy was the more sociable one. Now instead of us hearing "Puppy!" all the time, we hear" Orsie!" Uh Oh...
Anyhow, we are back. It is good to be back at home with Aaron, but I am in my ussual return to BC slump. I would give almost anything to be back in Alberta, near family and in a small town. Pray for me, I am ussually fine with the fact that God doesn't have it in the plans for me to be there, but when I first come home, it always seems to feel like I am reminded of what I am missing as well, and more so what Katie is missing.
