A Bike For the New Sister

On Wednesday we went out and purchased a run bike for Katie. It was something just for her that she wouldn't have to share...yet. She was thrilled with the idea, and maybe even just a little bit more excited about the new helmet that she also got. Aaron took her out for her first ride after her nap and it started out great, but our driveway has a bit of a slope and she picked up a bit more speed than she wanted. So for the time being we are a bit timid of the whole bike idea but we were able to get her back on for a few photos. I look at her in these pictures and she looks so grown up now especially with Luke to compare against.

And Then There Were 4

Luke Aaron Radke has finally joined us. He was born Saturday April 11 at 8:19am, weighing 7lbs 13oz. Much to our surprise he was 11 days early, which by the end I was sure that he would be right around his due date but definitely not early. Katie has been the proud sister and has announced that she is the big sister and now has a baby brother named Luke to almost everyone we meet. We are glad that she is so proud of him, but we think she as of today is starting to feel a little put out at times. We'll see how that plays out. Overall the transition has been easy, Luke sleeps very well and is a very contented baby. Here are a few shots of the last 4 days.

Colouring Easter Eggs

Just a few photos of the colouring. Unfortunately we had a limited colour supply since I forgot that the red was leaking and had been thrown away. O well, it was still fun and Katie didn't mind.

I Just Want to Sleep

Here it is midnight, and I know for some that it isn't that late, but I am tired and I want to sleep. I have tried to not complain too much, but I am tired of being pregnant. I want to meet this little person, and I want to lay down in bed and actually be comfortable. If it isn't too much to ask, I would also like to be able to roll over without waking up everytime! I know I am not the only one to feel this way, especially at this stage, but right now I haven't decided whether or not I want to cry or scream. I hope everyone else is sleeping well. I hope to join you soon (with some nightime interludes of course).

Katie's Dentist Appointment

This morning was Katie's 3rd dentist appointment. Just to start, here is our track record...
1st- went really well
2nd- um, where to begin, lets just say, the crying room doesn't block out all the sound, sorry for those who were waiting.
Needless to say both Aaron and I were wondering what this morning would hold. We talked the whole event up and were trying to get her really excited. Well, we showed up and were able to play a few moments, this involved finding a princess cape that she was able to wear when we went in. Then of all the shows on the TV, it was Clifford (we are off to a great start)! Wendy was the name of the lady helping us, and she showed Katie what each step and tool was, and I wish I had a camera to prove it, but it went amazing! No problems. We brushed, polished, flossed, did the flouride and it was fun for Katie. Aaron and I were so proud! Then was the appointment time with Dr. Kramer, and once again the cry room doesn't stop all the noise, but hey, the majority of the appointment went great and I am still smiling when I think about it.

Newer Photos and Events

Last week my Mom was out once again. Originally the intention was to find her a dress for Travis and Jen's upcoming wedding, but she ended up finding one just before she came. This was great since it gave us some time to shop but not have any preasure on us to find something. We didn't really find much but we sure had fun looking. My Mom bought Katie a tent to play in to save me having to constantly tear apart and clean up the tents we have been making in the living room lately. I admit, a lot of the fun is in the building, but it is a lot of work to take apart too. So for now Katie has a little tent in the living room, and she basically spends all her free time in it, reading playing with blocks and whatever else she takes in. It is great since it tends to contain the chaos as well.

Just a couple of other photos as well. A couple are from our last trip to Lacombe that I just hadn't posted yet, and the other is of Katie enjoying a prebed tea party. She is growing so fast that I just can't quite believe it sometimes. And yes I know, it isn't going to slow down either, so I guess I need to remember to keep the camera handy!

Busy, Procrastinating and Tired

As you can well see, I have been putting off updating our blog for well over 2 months now. It started with just being busy. Then it seemed weird to be updating our blog with Christmas pictures when it was already the new year. Then we were busy cleaning out the spare room downstairs so we can make that the guest room. That involved cleaning and organizing a room that had a been a catch all since we moved in. Wow! I am glad that is over. Once that was done, we swapped Katie into the larger upstairs bedroom so the baby is still in the smaller room. All of this together and 2 months flies by. You add procrastinating into that and it means no updates.
During all this time I was so tired, I assumed it was pregnancy and having a toddler. Several weeks ago, I found out I was anemic, and now that we are treating that I have a lot more energy, it doesn't solve the procrastinating but it certainly helps.

Really in all of the time that has passed, not too much has changed. The one big thing would be that we bought a new car a week ago. We traded in the Jetta and bought a Mazda 5. This is the happy medium of not having a minivan and yet, enjoying a lot of the features that would come with a minivan such as being higher, extra seating and sliding doors. I never thought I would enjoy sliding doors so much, but I must admit they are great! Otherwise life is plugging along, and we are eagerly counting down the weeks until number 2 arrives. I promise to be better with the blogging again. Now that I am past this first hurdle of getting the long over due post done, I can once again blog without the guilt.
